The list was compiled through an extensive judging process by industry experts, chaired by Lord Haskins, former government adviser and CEO of Northern Foods.
Over the Christmas trading period Greggs sold more than one million mince pies each week, with an increase of 6 percent on last year's results. Greggs credited this in part to its new Viennese mince pie.
The group, which trades from over 1,400 outlets, said on Tuesday its sales over the 10 weeks to March 7 increased 1.0 percent on a like-for-like basis, which strips out the impact of new space.
The rise in underlying sales marks an acceleration from the 3.8 percent increase in like-for-like sales the firm reported for the 15 weeks to December 6.
The chain already has 1,400 outlets in the UK but it still sees "considerable potential" for growth, particularly in the North West and South of England.
